Why Better Measurement Still Matters in an Era of Endless Data

More data has not removed the need for cleaner measurement. If anything, it has made precision more valuable.

There is a temptation to believe that very large datasets solve every uncertainty problem by scale alone. In reality, weak measurement quality can still overwhelm huge volumes of information.

Physics remains a useful corrective to that misunderstanding. Better calibration, cleaner signal separation, and tighter uncertainty estimates often matter more than simply adding another stream to the pile.

This is one reason science journalism benefits from a measured visual style. When the design is calm and clear, the argument of the story has more room to do its work.
